People want honest, educated, efficient

The commoners of Meherpur district are almost unison for electing honest and efficient upazilla chairmen and vice-chairmen in upcoming elections to augment the process of development, sources said. The enthusiastic people are now busy talking about the probable aspirants for the nine posts in three upazilas of the district.
The voters of the area want to elect educated, honest, dynamic and patriotic persons as the upazilla chairmen and vice-chairmen for ensuring smooth development of rural areas. At bazaars, tea stalls, hotels, restaurants, bus stands, the common people are found talking with one another about the ensuing election and probable candidates for the upazila polls.
The people in their discussion put special emphasis on honesty, sincerity, efficiency and educational background of the probable candidates irrespective of their political belongings.
This time, a number of independent candidates are expected to contest the third upazilla polls and most of the probable candidates and their supporters have already started campaigning in the respective areas. Candidates having political identities are getting supports from their local leaders and activists while the independent candidates are making contacts mainly with the local elites, professionals, relatives, friends and the common voters with huge enthusiasms.
