Bangladesh Govt to probe BTCL

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission will keep hold of all illegal VoIP equipment seized in drives over the past two years. BTRC said in a statement Sunday all equipment seized by the joint BTRC and Rapid Action Battalion investigating teams remained under the preserve of the telecoms regulator.Newspapers have speculated on the fate of the equipment recovered in the anti-VoIP drives, which have seen the largest telcos as well as small operators fined crores of taka.
BTRC said in a statement, “There is no scope for resale or return of the equipment.”
