Eviction drive continues in Shitalakhya, Turag

The ongoing eviction drive against the river grabbers started this morning in Shitalakhya and Turag.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) along with Narayanganj district administration resumed the tenth day eviction drive, with knocking down the illegal portions of three jute mills — Pal and Company, Popular Jute Mills and Hafiz Jute Mills — on Shitalakhya river in Narayanganj.
On the other hand, BIWTA and Dhaka district administration started the third day of excavation work to remove massive earth filling done by influential encroachers on the Gabtali bank of Turag.
