26 lakh MT food for public food distribution system

Food Minister Mohammad Abdur Razzaque today said the government has allocated 26,75,000 metric tons of food for public food distribution system, aiming to encompass destitute in food safety net for the fiscal year 2009-10.
Of the amount, 23 lakh tonnes will be distributed under social security scheme through VGD, VGF, Test Relief and Food for Work (FFW).
He was addressing a press briefing at his ministry.
