An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Rajshahi University unit, who was given death threat by Shibir cadres on Thursday night and on Friday, left the campus yesterday on receiving a fresh threat.

Shibir (ICS) cadres threatened BCL activist Golam Mostafa with death on Thursday as they branded him as one of the killers of their leader Shariful Islam Nomani on the campus on March 13 this year.

Sayedee sued for war crime in Pirojpur

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee was sued today in Pirojpur on war crime charges, reports our Barisal correspondent.

Freedom Fighter Mahbub Hossain of Tangrakhali in Zianagar upazila of the district filed the case with the Judicial Magistrate Court.

The plaintiff alleged that the Jamaat leader in collaboration with the Pakistani occupation forces vandalised, looted and set ablaze to the houses in Zianagar.

The Election Commission may consider a dialogue on the caretaker government issue in case the government forwards a written proposal, chief election commissioner ATM Shamsul Huda said on Monday.

“If the incumbent government seeks comments on the caretaker government system, we’ll surely oblige,” Huda told reporters at the EC after signing an MoU with South Korea National Election Commission.
