2 million primary school children sit new exams

Two million children countrywide began taking primary level exams under a new system Saturday.
The Class 5 students were sitting the newly introduced Primary Education Terminal Examinations, in the biggest round of public exams in the country.
The three-day examinations will be held on Nov 21, 22 and 24, and the results will be published on Dec 20, the education ministry has said.
The successful students may expect their certificates on Dec 25, said the ministry. They will be provided with scholarships based on the results.
