Four of the convicts of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman assassination case, now languishing in the Dhaka Central Jail, will seek president’s clemency.
Lt Col Syed Farooq Rahman, Maj Bazlul Huda, Maj (Lancer) AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed and Lt Col (Artillery) Mohiuddin Ahmed expressed their willingness to file the petitions while Lt Col Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan is yet to take any decision in this regard, senior officials at the jail told The Daily Star.
The relatives of Bazlul Huda, including his wife and mother, visited Huda at the jail on Sunday.
Later on the day, relatives of Shahriar Rashid and AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed also went to the jail to see them.
The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the death sentence to a dozen killers, including the four, earlier confirmed by the High Court.
