The pay scale for the civil service will be declared tomorrow if the cabinet approves it on Wednesday, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said on Tuesday.
“I expect the pay scale to be declared tomorrow. But, if there is small things to be corrected, it may take one or two more days,” he told newsmen in an informal press briefing at the conference room of the Economic Relations Division (ERD) in the capital.
The final recommendations of the seventh pay scale for the civil servants will be placed in Wednesday’s cabinet meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The finance minister did not say anything about the range of the pay. Sources, however, said lowest pay will be Tk 4100, while the highest will be Tk 40,000.
In response to a query, Muhith said there is no plan of the government to increase retirement age of the government officials.
