PM to award top students of pry terminal exam

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over awards to the three students who secured top positions in the new primary education terminal examination, an official of the primary and mass education ministry said Wednesday.

The ministry published the results on Tuesday with overall pass rate at 88.84 percent.


The examination was held on Nov 21, 22 and 23.

The award giving ceremony will be held on January 6 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on the occasion of National Education Week, the official told bdnews24.com.

He said, “The decision has been taken following a significant response in the exam that took place for the first time in the country.”

Of the successful students, 41.77 percent got first division, 37.98 percent secured second division and another 20.25 percent of the students got third division.

On the observance of the education week a total of 42 awards will be given to the top school, teachers, staffs under several sections, the official said.

The decision on awarding the top three students by the prime minister was made to encourage the participants of the exam, he added.

Minister for primary and mass education Afsarul Amin at the result publishing ceremony on Tuesday, said, “The top 10 schools will be awarded.”

He also disclosed plans to reward those secured top positions at the division level.
