OMS of rice begins

Open Market Sales (OMS) of rice at Tk 22 a kilogram started in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Dealers in a total of 40 trucks began the OMS, which is expected to start in full swing through 700 dealers from Friday in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Narsingdi and Gazipur, said an official of the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management.
Rice will be available in the sales centers of the dealers from 9:00am to 4:00pm six days a week, except Friday.
Only on the next Friday (January 22) the sales centers will remain open, the official added.
An individual could buy highest five kilograms of rice in a day, he added.
