Telecom policy amendment approved to stop illegal VoIP

The cabinet on Monday approved the draft of an amendment to the International Long Distance Telecommunication Service Policy 2009 that would allow individuals and companies to run multiple telecom business.
The amendment to the policy was meant to help stop illegal VoIP business, said Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abdul Kalam Azad after the meeting.
Azad said the amendment would make way for the telecom operators to get license to run multiple telecom business.
