Bangladesh signs four treaties with Kuwait

Bangladesh and Kuwait signed four treaties after the official talks held between Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace here Monday night.
The two countries inked the agreements on cultural promotion, economic and technical cooperation, tourism and joint commission on bilateral relations, said Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad after signing of the deals.
Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Foreign Minister Dipu Moni and State Minister for Forest and Environment Hasan Mahmud initialed the treaties with their respective Kuwaiti counterparts.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah witnessed the signing ceremony.
Cabinet colleagues of the Kuwaiti prime minister and entourage members of the Bangladesh premier were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Bangladesh prime minister had an exclusive one to one meeting with her Kuwaiti counterpart.
After agreement signing ceremony, Sheikh Hasina and members of her entourage joined a banquet hosted by the Kuwaiti prime minister in honour of the prime minister of Bangladesh.
Ministers of the government of Kuwait, diplomats of different countries and others dignitaries attended the banquet.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is now on a three-day official visit to the oil rich Arab state, passed a hectic day on Monday.
Apart from the meetings with emir, prime minister and speaker of Kuwait parliament, director general of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Abdulwahab Al Bader and Managing Director of Kuwait Investment Authority Bader M Al Saad paid separate calls on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Bayan Palace here, the place of residence of Bangladesh premier.
During the meetings, they discussed various issues of expansion of bilateral trade as well as Kuwaiti investment in various development projects in Bangladesh.
