MPs get Tk 15cr each for infrastructure development

The Executive Committee of National Economic Council on Tuesday decided to allocate Tk 15 crore each to the members of the parliament for infrastructure development.

The decision was taken at a meeting at the NEC conference room with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair, Prothom Alo reports.

After the meeting, Planning Minister AK Khandker told reporters that all lawmakers have already submitted proposals on the projects in their own constituencies.

The Ecnec also approved 10 development projects involving Tk 7,844 crore, of which Tk 4, 691 crore will be spent on the rural infrastructure development projects.

Of the money, Tk 6,480 crore will come from the government exchequer and the rest Tk 1,364 crore in project aid.
