Aug 9 fixed as Nat’l Energy Security Day

The Cabinet on Monday decided to observe National Energy Security Day on August 9.
On this day in 1975, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had taken a milestone decision for ensuring energy security for the country.
So, the government will observer the day as National Energy Security Day every year, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told newsmen after the regular cabinet meeting at Bangladesh secretariat.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the meeting.
The energy and power minister, secretaries and top officials of the ministry were present at the meeting.
