Bangla Bhai’s aide held in Naogaon

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) early Thursday arrested a close associate of executed JMB second-in-command Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai at Atrai upazila in Naogaon.
The arrestee was identified as Hemayet Uddin Himu and a regional commander of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), Rab sources said.
Himu was leading the JMB men of Raninagar and Sadar upazilas of Naogaon, Rab men claimed.
A team of Rab arrested Himu from his house at Aatgram village of the upazila at about 3:00am, our Rajshahi correspondent reports.
Hemu used to work for banned outlawed organisation Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) before joining JMB in 2004.
