August 26, 2010
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s nephew Saiful Islam Duke was shown arrested Wednesday night in connection with the August 21 grenade attack case.
Abdul Kahar Akhand, special superintendent of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), told The Daily Star that they detained Duke from the CID headquarters on Wednesday.
Duke appeared at CID headquarters as he had been asked during the first interrogation on Tuesday by Abdul Kahar Akand, also investigation officer of the case.
When the grenade attack had taken place at an Awami League rally that killed 24 leaders and workers in 2004, Duke was the personal secretary to the then prime minister Khaleda Zia.
