Chapa Rani killer nabbed

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel have nabbed the alleged killer of Chapa Rani Bhowmik, Debashish Saha Rony, from Jhenaidah.
Faridpur police superintendent Awlad Ali Fakir told bdnews24.com on Sunday, “He will be brought here and produced before newsmen around 2pm at my office.”
Govt plans to export 400,000 people

The government has fixed a target to send 400,000 labourers abroad this year.
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment secretary Zafar Ahmed on Sunday said told a workshop on safe immigration in Dhaka that last year about 475,000 Bangladeshis immigrated with job. This year the target was cut down to 400,000 due to global recession and other problems.
Sayedee tax evasion case charge framing hearing now Nov 10

A Dhaka court on Sunday fixed November 10 for hearing on charge framing against detained Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Delwar Hossain Sayedee in connection with a tax evasion case.
Judge Mohammad Zohurul Haq of the Senior Special Judges’ Court passed the order with Saydee on the dock.
Arrest warrant issued against Koko

A Dhaka court on Sunday issued an arrest warrant against Arafat Rahman Koko, the younger son of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, in connection with a money laundering case.
Judge Mohammad Mozammel Hossain of the Special Judge’s Court-3 passed the order after a lengthy hearing from Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and defence lawyer Advocate Sanaullah Miah.
RMG workers protest factory closure

Workers of a ready-made garment factory in the capital’s suburb Savar area staged demonstration Sunday morning protesting the closure of their factory.
At least 2,400 workers staged demonstration for about two and a half hours from 7:30am in front of Navana Sweater Factory at Kalma protesting the authority’s decision to shut the factory for next three months, Officer-in-Charge of Savar Police Station Mahbubur Rahman said.
Pilot’s body recovered from Jamuna

Divers Sunday morning recovered the body of missing pilot of the training aircraft, Cessna-152, that crashed into the river Jamuna in Chowhali upazila of Sirajganj on Saturday.
A group of divers, led by Mizanur Rahman, deputy director of Rajshahi Fire Service, retrieved the floating body of captain Kamrul Hasan from within one kilometre of the spot at about 6:45am, reports our Sirajganj correspondent.

Stalker Rony arrested

Devashish Saha Rony, the prime accused in Chanpa Rani Bhowmik murder case, was arrested at Jhenidah district headquarters Sunday morning.
A team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police of Faridpur Subrata Haldar, managed to capture Rony at about 10:30am, reports our Faridpur correspondent.
