A High Court bench on Tuesday directed the police to provide security to the daughters of Sadequr Rahman and Romana Nargis who were killed by miscreants in March at Gulshan in the capital.
The division bench comprising Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik and Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain asked the officers in charge of Gulshan and Badda police stations to give security to Sumaiya Yasmin Bithi and Nilufar Yasmin Iti, with immediate effect.
2 outlaws killed in Rajbari factional ‘gunfight’

Two regional leaders of the outlawed organisation Biplabi Communist Party (BCP) were killed in a factional ‘gunfight’ in Pangsha upazila of Rajbari early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Aziz, 38, and Dip Kumar Biswas, 30, of Kashba Majail area of the upazila. Aziz was accused in two murder cases, police said.
PM warns against garment anarchy, sabotage

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday warned against any attempt to destabilise the garments sector as a section of workers took to the streets despite the announcement of the new wage structure raising the pay by 80 percent at a time.
“No anarchy and sabotage in this sector will be tolerated,” she said in a teleconference from her Ganobhaban official residence, marking the launching of Bangabandhu Poverty Reduction Complex of BGMEA at Tungipara of Gopalganj.
4 Jamaat leaders to appear in tribunal Aug 2

The International Crimes Tribunal on Thursday issued a production warrant to the prisons authorities to produce the four top detained Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leaders before the tribunal on August 2.
The four Jamaat men are party Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami, its Secretary General Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mojahid and two senior assistant secretaries general Muhammad Kamaruzzaman and Abdul Quader Mollah.
